The University of Delaware Department of Physical Therapy (UDPT) will hold its annual Physical Therapy Program information session on Saturday, May 6th from Noon-3PM at the University of Delaware, STAR Health Sciences Complex.

If you are interested in a physical therapy career and would like to attend, please RSVP at http://sites.udel.edu/pt/open-house/.  Deadline to register is April 29th.

College Fair:

St. Marks is hosting a college fair on April 5, from 6:30-8:30PM.  There will be over 120 colleges in attendance.

Seniors:

  • Mid-year grades were submitted to colleges last week.
  • Continue to research scholarships. Stop by the guidance office for a copy of the Delaware Scholarships Compendium book. New scholarships have been added in Naviance.

Juniors:

  • Second Junior meeting will begin in March. We will discuss the college process.
  • Remember to register for a spring Standardized test:
  • SAT – March, May and June
  • ACT- April, June
  • For the 2017-2018 school year, the SAT will now be available in August. There will no longer be an SAT in January. The SAT will continue to be in October, November, December, March, May and June.
Penn State University’s Schreyer Honors College will host its Scholars Day Open House on Friday, April 28th.  This is an opportunity for prospective students and their families to learn more about the Honors College.  The event also includes an information fair with various University departments and academic colleges.  If you would like to attend, click on the link:  Event Information and Registration.

Sophomores:

  • Work on your activity resume.
  • Continue working on ACT/SAT practice in your Naviance account.
  • Complete the “Do What You Are” assessment.

Freshmen:

  • Individual Freshmen meetings begin the week of March 6.

Summer Academic Opportunities:

Drexel University – Drexel offers high school students a range of academic programs during the summer to explore what life in college is all about.  http://drexel.edu/undergrad/summer

Cornell University’s Summer College –  Programs for High School Students. https://www.sce.cornell.edu/sc  

Interested in medicine? Attend Camp Cardiac or Camp Neuro.  These are 1-week summer day camps, open to high school students interested in exploring careers in medicine.

2017 TIDE Camp at the University of Delaware – Summer opportunity for high school students with an interest in marine science. Learn more and register.

University of Pittsburg’s “The Bridge: College Prep & Leadership Academy.”

Students will receive SAT test prep, participate in leadership skills activities, financial aid and scholarships info, and a host of other activities that will prepare them for college.

The Bridge will be held at the University of Pittsburgh from July 9-14, 2017.
