Dear Parents and Students,

The Community Service Program at Wilmington Christian School is designed to help our students receive a practical experience in which they “effectively integrate Biblical truth into their daily lives and impact their culture for Christ”. Both our school and the agencies have benefited from our students being involved in our community. Many of them continue working with the agencies because of the relationship that has begun on this volunteer basis.

God’s Word tells us in I Peter 4:10, “Each one should use whatever gifts he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” The community service program gives students an opportunity to serve God by helping others, meeting new people, learning responsibility, and discovering gifts that they may use throughout life.

The Community Service Program requires all high school students to provide 40 hours of community service at one organization within a twelve-month period. It may begin any time after the student’s 8th grade year has been completed. This graduation requirement must be completed by the end of the first semester of the senior year.
