…for His provision in completing our facilities expansion program. Our new high school wing has been a real blessing to our students and faculty. It has allowed us to “spread our wings” and create a separate identity for both our high school and middle school students. The expansion has brought new Science labs, high school offices, and expanded classroom space. In addition, the high school gymnasium was completely renovated, along with a state-of-the-art fitness room. Four new locker rooms were constructed which allows our teams the dressing rooms we need as well as provide space for our visiting teams.
Our 800-seat auditorium has already provided a wonderful venue for both our own school programs, as well as hosting various outside groups, organizations, and church activities. The graduating class of 2008 celebrated our first commencement exercises in this glorious setting. WCS fine arts program has been “boosted forward” by the beautiful setting and professional sound and light equipment. We look forward to further expanding our performing arts offerings through the use of our Fine Arts Center.
The finishing touch of our school expansion program has been the cafeteria. This facility has provided the place for us to develop a full-service meal program for our students. It has allowed us to center our lunch program in one place, rather than having students eat in their classrooms or in the gymnasium. This has allowed us to fully utilize our school facilities for what is needed. The cafeteria has also been used by outside groups for meetings and meals.
In all, this expansion of Wilmington Christian School has brought our physical environment and academic program to a new level. We thank God, along with a host of friends and donors for helping provide this wonderful facility!
