Ways to Give

Someone once said “If something good is growing. Keep nurturing it.” WCS is growing. The community, where God has placed us, can see the impact of the school on the lives of our students and graduates.

It takes money to keep this good work growing. That sometimes requires us to rely on the generosity of our families, friends, Alumni Association, Corporations and Foundations who, like us, believe that Christian education is not just another option, but the best option to educate students who will impact the culture for Christ.

Wilmington Christian School is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 private school and as such engages in fund-raising activities to enhance its mission and provide tuition assistance for its students.

While our tuition fees largely cover our operating expenses, we seek other funding sources for capital needs and tuition assistance.

Tuition Assistance

All appeals sent out by the Development Department will go towards tuition assistance for the coming year. By God’s grace and through your generous giving we are hoping that this would be the best year ever to provide much needed assistance to our families who are struggling with the cost of Christian education. The goal of this fund is set, each year, by the Board of Directors. During a Capital Campaign, the Tuition Assistance giving must continue to remain strong and grow to sustain the current needs of the school community.

Technology

WCS enjoys two computer labs – one in the upper school and one in the elementary school. All computers are networked and have Internet connectivity. Laser and color printers are available in both labs. All funds restricted to technology will go towards improving our computers and adding new ones to our existing labs. Some families choose to designate their Bus Reimbursement money to stay in the school and go towards our technology fund. This has helped tremendously.

Capital Improvements

You can also designate your gifts to Board approved capital projects. These funds will be used as intended. to renovate our school buildings, enlarge our facility, or purchase much needed equipment or furnishings.

  • Elementary School Playground – $60,000
  • Automation of our Libraries – $35,000
  • The Capital Campaign – $9 millions ($7.2 already received or pledged)

Teachers Endowment Fund

We hope to increase teacher salaries to make them comparable to other Christian schools in our region. To accomplish this, we need an endowment fund that supports future salary increases. This will also diminish the size of future tuition increases and help make WCS more affordable.

Scholarship Endowment Fund

To be able to offer an affordable Christian education to our families we kept our fees at a lower rate than other schools in our area. Due to the economic situation of the country many families still have to turn back to the school for tuition assistance. Our goal is to build a Scholarship Endowment Fund that will support our annual needs. Presently we allocate all our fund raising efforts to cover the needs of eligible families.
