What a beautiful weekend. I am a little bit sore from yard work, but it was such a blessing to be outside and not get rained on!! The faculty and staff had a wonderful day at the MACSA convention last Friday. There were several excellent workshops, and teachers came back with great ideas to use in the classroom.
Report cards will be sent home with the students this afternoon. Please go over the report card with your student. You are to keep the report card and send the signed envelope back to homeroom with your student. If your child is the youngest sibling (or only child) at WCS, we have also include School Reach information in the report card envelope. Please fill out the correct telephone numbers and return that information by Thursday, November 12, 2009. We will be conducting a test on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, and need to input all of this information prior to the test date.

All students have received a form regarding the H1N1 vaccine. This form needed to be returned by Thursday, November 5, 2009. We are missing several forms. Even if your child will not be receiving the vaccine, the form must be completed and returned. Please return the form to the middle school office as soon as possible.
Got Shoes?? We are still collecting gently used shoes (sneakers, boots, dress shoes, etc.) for Shoes to Share, a ministry that provides shoes and other services to third-world countries around the world. If you have any shoes that you would like to donate, tie the laces together and send them in with your child. Collection bins have been emptied and they are in need of being filled once again. It isn’t just sneakers we are after! This ministry also helps people who are entering the job market with dress or business-style shoes. Help someone get back on his/her feet…literally!

If your student is going to be absent from school, there is a quick and easy way to notify the school. Visit our school website www.wilmingtonchristian.org and click on the quick contact link. From there you can submit the necessary information, including a request for work to be compiled. This information is forwarded to both the middle school office and the nurse’s office. If your child has an early dismissal, please send a note (or email) to the middle school office. This will help assure that your student is in the office and ready for pick-up when you arrive.
Our cafeteria provider Hepbron Food Services is serving breakfast each school day morning from 7:15 AM to 7:40 AM. Students may go to the cafeteria and purchase a breakfast!
