Middle Schoool “Heads Up” 3/22/2010

We have finally been able to hold practices outside for all of our spring sports.  Check out the sports schedules and come out and support our teams.  This is always a great opportunity to meet other parents and encourage our students!

We have two field trips scheduled for this week.  On Tuesday, March 23rd, the eighth graders will be attending a seminar sponsored by The News Journal at the Jewish Community Center.  The students will have the unique opportunity to listen to a survivor of the Holocaust.  Our seventh graders will go to the Medieval Times on Thursday, March 25th.

This Friday, March 26th, we will be hosting the second annual Wilmington Christian School/Pike Creek Christian School Combined Music Festival.  PCCS chorus and band will spend the day with our WCS students practicing together before a combined performance that evening at 7:00 PM.  Everyone is invited to attend the performance!  It is an amazing evening!!  This is a required event for our chorus and band members.  They are to arrive at WCS at 6:30 PM.

If you are in need of some service hours or just would like to help out, I need a few parents to help with lunch during our rehearsal.  Please contact the middle school office if you have a few hours to give on Friday, March 26th, 11 AM – 1 PM.  Thanks!

Second Chance Resale will be setting up shop on campus on Wednesday, March 24th, and Friday, March 26th, 2:00 – 4:30 PM.  A selection of used WCS uniforms will be available for purchase.

Just a reminder:  Easter Vacation begins on Friday, April 2nd.  School will resume Monday, April 12th.  Before the students leave for vacation, we are encouraging them to clean out their lockers of old lunches, winter coats, dirty uniforms, etc.  Spring Cleaning comes to the Middle School!!

If your student is going to be absent from school or leaving school early, there is a quick and easy way to notify the school.  Visit our school website www.wilmingtonchristian.org and click on “parent.” There are two submission forms that are very important to the middle school office.  The absentee notification and early dismissal forms are invaluable when keeping track of attendance.  Please fill the forms out and submit them when appropriate!
